Visit Chevrolet for more information on the Chevrolet Cavalier.

For 2004, Chevrolet's sporty Cavalier is safer than ever before. It now offers a center rear three-point seat belt, as well as optional driver and front passenger seat-mounted torso airbags with thorax protection (side impact air bags).

Other changes include a new appearance package and two new exterior colors. In other words, the 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier is even sportier than previous models. What it continues to provide is a well-appointed interior, a peppy engine and exceptional handling.

Available Models
The 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier is offered in three trims: base, LS and LS Sport.

Interior Features
The Cavalier comes as a two-door coupe or as a four-door sedan. Both body styles fit five passengers. The sedan has slightly more cargo volume and head and legroom.

Base 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier models have such features as air conditioning, power steering, a cloth/vinyl upholstery, a center console and a split folding rear seat. LS models add an AM/FM/CD player, cruise control and power mirrors, windows and door locks.

For listening pleasure, 2004 Chevrolet Cavaliers present an optional CD/MP3 music player. Also available is XM satellite radio and its 100 digital channels.

Exterior Features
The Chevrolet Cavalier got a major exterior restyling in 2003. The 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier offers chrome aluminum wheels, specific body-color door handles, body-color exterior mirror housings for the power mirrors and a high profile rear spoiler. Two new colors debut as well: Rally Yellow and Sunburst Orange Metallic.

Performance
The sole engine powering all three Chevrolet Cavalier models is a 2.2-liter, inline Ecotec 4-cylinder model. It lets the front-wheel drive Cavalier produce 140 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 150 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm.

4-speed automatic and 5-speed manual transmissions are available. Automatics have a fuel rating of 24/32 mpg (city/highway), while manuals get 25/33 mpg (city/highway).

Both LS models features a FE2 sport suspension system, which provides excellent handling and road feel. The sport suspension results in flatter, more precise cornering, more driver feedback and better communication between car and driver. It also has front and rear sway bars that stiffen the ride.

Safety and Security
In addition to its new safety features, the 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier also has GM's LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) system. It can be combined with a top shelf tether to enable adults to securely install LATCH-compatible child seats without using a seatbelt. Rear child seat anchors are located in the floorpan with an attachment at the juncture of the seat cushion and seat back.

The handy OnStar system continues as an option for the LS and LS Sport models.
