Visit Chevrolet for more information on the Chevy Blazer.

Back before sport utility vehicles were novelty items, the Chevy Blazer was quietly going about its business. It combined impressive handling with extreme ruggedness, spacious cargo volume and interior comfort.

These days, the 2004 Chevy Blazer continues to stick to the things that have made it a success over the years. It is still tough, strong, comfortable and safe. One of the more functional SUVs in a market saturated with mode, the Blazer remains a hit to thousands of loyal devotees.

Available Models
The 2004 Chevy Blazer is offered in two or four-door standard configurations, in a low-stance sporty Xtreme (two-door) model and a high-stance ZR2 (two-door) model for the serious off-road enthusiast.

Interior Features
Positioned in the middle of the Chevy SUV family, the Blazer comes in a number of styles to suit customer's needs. Two-door models can seat five, while four-door models have the capacity to handle six. Four-door Blazers also have 7.2 cubic feet more cargo volume, for a total of 67.8 cubic feet.

For 2004, four-door Blazers offer optional steering-wheel radio controls. This feature allows drivers to concentrate fully on the road ahead of them. Also new for four-door models is a deluxe overhead console with a universal garage-door opener.

Exterior Features
The Xtreme model certainly lives up to its name. This sporty two-door model is designed primarily for road use, but with a decided attitude. The Xtreme features low-profile tires, five-spoke aluminum wheels, special Xtreme badging, deep-tint windows and color-keyed body cladding. It sits a bit lower to the ground for that smooth, cruising appeal.

Performance
The engine inside the 2004 Chevy Blazer is a 4.3-liter Vortec V6. It churns out 190 horsepower at 4400 rpm and 250 lb-ft of torque at 2800 rpm. Four-door Blazers have standard 4-speed automatic transmission, while two-door models receive 5-speed manual. 2WD and 4WD configurations are both available.

The Xtreme and ZR2 are two models that take on and off-road driving to new heights. The Xtreme has a low stance, Z87 sport suspension and a heavy-duty trailer hitch to maximize paved street driving.

For off-road junkies, the ZR2 is perfect. It has a special wide stance chassis and a raised ride height, heavy-duty suspension, Bilstein shocks, heavy-duty differential gears and axles and aggressive fender flares.

Safety and Security
In addition to its standard antilock brake system and front-passenger airbags, the 2004 Chevy Blazer features an optional programmable auto door lock/unlock feature that allows customers to set the locking and unlocking functions to their preferences.
