Visit Ford for more information on the Ford Focus.

The dynamic 2004 Ford Focus comes with yet another engine choice. It pushes the total to four and expands the offerings of this subcompact car to ridiculous proportions. There are four-door sedans, four-door wagons and hatchbacks with two or four doors. If variety is the spice of life, the Ford Focus is one flavorful vehicle.

Since its inception, the 2004 Ford Focus has been known as a versatile, fun-to-drive car that has a fresh perspective on what it takes to please customers. Chosen as one of Car and Driver magazine's 10 best cars for four straight years, it must be doing something right.

Available Models
The 2004 Ford Focus is available in all these trims: XL, ZX3, SE, ZX5, ZTS, ZTW and SVT.

Interior Features
With a model lineup like that, it's safe to say that there is a great range of standard equipment across the family.

The 2004 Ford Focus features a sporty woven seat material on the inside. For a more upscale feel, a textured velour fabric is available. Ford simulated 10 years and 100,000 miles of use with both fabrics and colors to ensure that they hold up to fading and deterioration.

Just as there are many models for 2004, so too is there a plethora of options. Some come in groups and some stand alone. A six-disc in-dash CD changer, an audiophile system with subwoofer, leather seating surfaces, a power moonroof and heated seats and mirrors are all offered.

Exterior Features
Light Tundra Clearcoat Metallic, a color new last year to the four-door sedan and wagon, is now available on the ZX3 and ZX5 as well.

Performance
There are four versions of a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine used across the board. The base 2.0 I4 model produces 110 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque. Stepping up from the entry-level LX trim is the ZX3, which uses a 2.0-liter I4 that delivers 130 horsepower and 135 lb-ft of torque (SE, ZX5 and ZTW models as well).

ZTS models employ an I4 that puts out 145 horsepower and 149 lb-ft of torque. Finally, the SVT is able to push the engine to the limit, offering 170 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque.

5-speed manual transmission is standard, while a 4-speed electronically controlled automatic overdrive transaxle is available on all models.

Safety and Security
The 2004 Focus uses a safety cell body that features body structure areas designed to absorb and spread impact forces. Antilock brakes and side airbags are optional.
