Visit Ford for more information on the Ford F-150.

If you pay attention to the road while you're driving, chances are you've seen Ford F-series trucks all over the place. It seems like everywhere you turn, the confident pickup is smoothly maneuvering about. Naturally, this is no small coincidence - the F-series has been an extraordinarily popular line since its debut. Comfort and style, performance and handling are all standard with every pickup configuration, while what truly impresses is the ruggedness and durability of the line, giving models such as the 2003 Ford F-150 the type of high reputation they deserve.

Available Models
There are plenty of configurations to fit all sorts of customer needs. What results is a selection that can handle everyday driving just as easily as it does work-related jobs. The 2003 Ford F-150 is available in 2-door Regular Cab, SuperCab (with hinged back-doors) and 4-door SuperCrew Cab. For bed sizes, Regular and SuperCabs have cargo beds of 6.5 or 8 ft; SuperCrews use a 5.5-ft bed. The 6.5-ft bed comes in flat-side Styleside form or as a flare-fender Flareside, while all other beds are Styleside only. The F-150 XL and XLT models occupy the lower half of the entire ½-ton F-150 spectrum, as they are joined by uplevel Lariat and King Ranch models.

Interior Features
Even at the entry-level position, the XL model of the 2003 Ford F-150 is given a generous amount of comfort features. Air conditioning, cloth upholstery, AM/FM cassette player and power steering are standard. The XLT adds a tilt leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, power mirrors, windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, AM/FM/CD player and carpeting.

The F-150 SuperCrew Cab offers a few extra features, including standard power adjustable pedals, available power moonroof and a functional bed extender. SuperCrew Cab models also offer an available rear-seat entertainment package option, with VHS player and video game outlets. All XL and XLT models can be seriously upgraded with the diverse options packages available.

Exterior Features
Functional equipment is standard with the F-150, just as one would expect from this workhorse. Tie-down hooks are located in each corner of all F-150 cargo boxes to help secure cargo. A cargo light on the back of the cab makes loading and unloading the pickup box easier at night.

Performance has never, and will never, be an issue with the F-150. XL and XLT Regular Cab models have rear-wheel drive with a 4.2-liter V6 engine with 202 horsepower. The 4WD SuperCab steps things up in terms of power with a 4.6-liter V8 with 281 horsepower at 4750 rpm. Customers can choose between 5-speed manual and four-speed automatic transmission.

All models offer an optional, award-winning 5.4-liter SOHC Triton V-8 engine that delivers 260 horsepower and 350 foot-pounds of torque.

Safety and Security
The Ford F-150 is given dual front airbags and antilock 4-wheel disc brakes for safety. Side-door intrusion beams help protect occupants in a side impact, while the LATCH child safety seat tethers are also part of the standard equipment package.

New for the 2003 F-150

Aggressive efforts to combat noise, vibration and harshness help provide a quieter driving experience. At 4,000 rpm, wide-open-throttle, the F-150's interior is now more than 5 sones quieter. The Speech Articulation Index, a measure of how easily one can hold a conversation, is improved by more than 10 percent across the engine speed range
