Visit Ford for more information on the Ford Expedition.

The 2003 Ford Expedition is a full-size SUV with plenty of ruggedness and a long list of impressive performance features. When you take a look at an Expedition on the road, this is generally the first thing that comes to mind. But it is the interior styling that really sets the 2003 Ford Expedition apart, as it offers a surprisingly refined cabin filled with features that result in both passenger and driver comfort.

Available Models
The 2003 Ford Expedition is offered in a wide variety of models, including XLT Value, Popular and Premium. In addition, there is an XLT FX4 Off-Road model and a top-line Eddie Bauer trim level.

Interior Features
The four-door 2003 Ford Expedition is a full-size SUV in every sense of the term. With a wheelbase of 119 inches, the Expedition can seat up to nine people without a problem. It is designed with a convenient layout for large families who also have a taste for adventure. For 2003, the Expedition becomes even more practical with a first-in-the-industry power fold-down 3rd-row seat, allowing owners to easily increase the trunk space to accommodate a large volume of goods.

Though at the entry-level, the XLT Value model still offers front air conditioning, cruise control, front split bench seat with lumbar adjustment, 6-way power driver seat, power-adjustable pedals, an AM/FM/cassette/CD player and more. The top-line Eddie Bauer loads on the comfort with leather upholstery, an Audiophile AM/FM radio with in-dash 6-disc CD changer, steering-wheel radio controls and a trip computer.

Exterior Features
The 2003 Expedition has been redesigned inside and out, resulting in an even more capable SUV with a healthy dose of modern style as well. The new Expedition is given a more assured, wider stance to handle the rigors of the road, while jeweled quad headlamps with bright chrome reflectors offer better functionality and a clean appearance.

Performance
Performance certainly is not an issue with the Expedition. The standard engine, a 4.6-liter V8 capable of 232 horsepower at 4750 rpm and 291 lb-ft of torque at 3450 rpm, gets up to speed very quickly, no matter how much weight it is carrying. Optional on all models except the Value trim level is an upgraded 5.4-liter V8, which doles out 260 horsepower at 4500 rpm and 350 lb-ft of torque at 2500 rpm. All models are available in 2WD or 4WD configurations, the latter being an advanced four-wheel-drive system that automatically adjusts to a variety of surface conditions.

New independent rear suspension greatly improves the Expedition's ability to track uneven pavement or terrain for improved ride comfort and control. For exceptional off-road capabilities, one need only purchase the XLT FX4 Off-Road model, which comes with the 5.4-liter V8 engine and 4WD standard, plus all-terrain white letter tires.

Safety and Security
Safety is achieved with standard antilock 4-wheel brakes, a brake assist feature and dual front airbags. Optional equipment includes curtain side airbags, an antiskid system and a tire-pressure monitor.
