Models
There are two models available the Prizm Sedan
and the Prizm LSi Sedan. Both models have similar features
such as a 1.8L 4-cylinder engine. The main difference is
that the LSi Sedan comes standard with remote keyless entry,
an electric rear-window defogger, power door locks, a 60/40
split rear seat with pass-through feature, tilt steering
wheel, tachometer, power windows, AM/FM stereo with cassette,
power-operated outside rear view mirrors and special full
wheel covers.
Interior
Both models come standard with air conditioning,
rear-floor heater ducts, trip-odometer, AM/FM stereo radio.
Optional equipment include an electric-sliding sunroof and
a CD-equipped AM/FM stereo.
Performance
Standard on both models is a powerful 1.8L 125hp
sequentially-fuel injected aluminum engine with dual-overhead
camshafts, a near-maintenance-free direct ignition system,
a single serpentine accessory drive system for added smoothness,
and a torque-axis engine mounting system that helps soak
up vibration and noise.
Three transmissions are available; standard is the five-speed
manual and available as options are a three-speed automatic
and a four-speed automatic with overdrive.
Safety
Family-oriented buyers will appreciate Prizm’s attention
to safety. Standard safety equipment includes driver and
front passenger air bags, lower anchors for child restraint
seats and an inside trunk release handle. Optional safety
equipment includes side-impact air bags for driver and front
passenger as well as four-wheel antilock brakes.
