Visit Toyota for more information on the Toyota Sequoia.

Toyota's Sequoia, like most full-size sport utility vehicles, is a real monster on the road. When one pulls up next to you, you can really feel it. And when one enters your rearview mirror, it feels as though a large ship is about ready to overtake you.

The Sequoia shares a basic underskin design with the Toyota Tundra pickup truck. It also has the same V8 engine and automatic transmission as the Tundra. In the Toyota family, the Sequoia is larger than Toyota's Japanese-built Land Cruiser. However, it is slightly smaller than a Ford Expedition.

For 2004, the Sequoia doesn't really change at all. You're just going to have to accept it.

Available Models
The 2004 Toyota Sequoia is offered in two models: SR5 and Limited.

Interior Features
The massive size of the 2004 Toyota Sequoia means an interior that is supremely spacious. The four-door Sequoia sits up to eight people, and none of them will ever complain about being cramped. Plus, there's 128 cubic feet of cargo space to work with.

Base SR5 models have front and rear air conditioning with dual-zone automatic climate controls. Front captain chairs, a center console, power mirrors, windows (including liftgate window) and door locks and an AM/FM/cassette/CD player are also included.

Uplevel Limited models add such things as leather upholstery, heated front seats, an 8-way power driver seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with radio controls and a trip computer.

For 2004, the options list includes an in-dash 6-disc CD changer, a rear-seat DVD entertainment system, rear radio controls and more.

Exterior Features
A rear spoiler is also optional, though one has to wonder why anyone would need it with a burly full-size SUV. Still, it's there if you do.

Performance
Nothing is changed with the 2004 Toyota Sequoia, so it continues to use the same engine as before. A 4.7-liter V8, it is able to generate 240 horsepower at 4800 rpm and 315 lb-ft of torque at 3400 rpm. Teamed to this engine is a 4-speed electronically-controlled automatic transmission with overdrive.

Both Toyota Sequoia models offer a rear-wheel drive configuration or a four-wheel drive configuration. It can be used on dry pavement and it includes a locking center differential and low-range gearing.

A self-leveling rear suspension is optional.

Safety and Security
The 2004 Toyota Sequoia has antilock 4-wheel disc brakes and an antiskid/traction-control system. Front torso side airbags and head-protecting curtain side airbags are optional.
