Visit Toyota for more information on the Toyota Avalon.

Toyota's Avalon provides you with an internationally-flavored ride that is easily fit for American roads. The only import-brand 6-passenger sedan offered in the entire US, the Avalon has one feature that transcends car nationalities: superior build quality.

The 2004 Toyota Avalon is sort of like a larger version of a Camry or Corolla with more power, space and appointments. It is a favorite of businessmen who like durable performance along with roominess and a high degree of interior comfort.

Another word that sums up the 2004 Toyota Avalon quite nicely: poise.

Available Models
The 2004 Toyota Avalon is offered in two models: XL and XLS.

Interior Features
As mentioned, the four-door Toyota Avalon sedan seats six, and Toyota means six. All totaled, the Avalon boasts a 105.6 cubic-foot interior.

XL models are nicely appointed, but top-line XLS Avalons really succeed in wrapping occupants in a premium setting. Some of the features included are dual-zone automatic climate controls, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power front seats, heated power mirrors with driver-side automatic day/night, a JBL sound system and a trip computer

Two individually-tailored luxury packages are offered with each trim. With the XLS, the package adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, driver-seat and mirror memory, an AM/FM/cassette player with in-dash 6-disc CD changer and more.

Exterior Features
Rain-sensing wipers are standard with XLS models. Toyota also offers a few exterior touch-ups for 2004. Customers who want to look good can buy a rear spoiler and/or special paint.

Performance
The 2004 Toyota Avalon rides smooth and responsibly. It features a MacPherson strut front suspension with offset coil springs and a stabilizer bar. At the back, the Avalon has a dual-link independent MacPherson strut rear suspension with offset coil springs and a stabilizer bar.

The engine used for 2004 is a 3.0-liter V6 with 210 horsepower at 5800 rpm and 220 lb-ft of torque at 4400 rpm. It is mated to a 4-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission, which gives the 2004 Avalon a fuel rating of 21/29 mpg (city/highway).

Though a larger sedan, the 2004 Toyota Avalon handles more like a nimble coupe. With speed-sensing variable-assist power rack-and-pinion steering, the Avalon's steering adjusts according to the speed of the engine.

Safety and Security
Avalons are typical Toyotas in that, in addition to being solidly built and durable, they are safe. All models have dual front airbags, front side airbags and antilock 4-wheel disc brakes.

In addition, Toyota offers the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) system with the Avalon. It uses ABS and brake assist to reduce excessive tire slippage during sudden braking maneuvers.
