The L-Series denotes Saturn's line of midsize sedans and wagons. Both fit into the 'value' class of vehicles, offering all the practical features customers want without an unnecessarily inflated price tag.

For 2003, Saturn manufacturers took a fine-tooth comb over last year's model, resulting in a restyled interior and a new-look exterior design. The 2003 Saturn L-Series comes in both sedan and wagon body types. Sedans are offered in L200 and L300 trims, while wagons are similarly divided into LW200 and LW300 trims.

Performance
The two-pronged engine lineup for the 2003 Saturn L-Series is split along trim lines. Both the Saturn L200 sedan and the Saturn LW200 wagon come with a 2.2-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 135 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 142 lb-ft. of torque at 4400 rpm. 300 models are equipped with a strong 3.0-liter V6 engine that delivers 182 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 190 lb-ft. of torque at 3600 rpm.

The 4-cylinder engine is mated to either 4-speed automatic transmission or 5-speed manual transmission. With the V6, only 4-speed automatic is offered.
