Visit Nissan for more information on the Nissan Maxima.

With its midsize car, the Maxima, Nissan offers a choice of base, sporty, or luxury models. This sedan demonstrates excellent acceleration and steering ability, and proves to be comfortable, quiet, and roomy enough for five passengers. Thanks to its split folding rear seat, the 2003 Nissan Maxima provides ample room for luggage and equipment as well.

Available Models
The 2003 Nissan Maxima is available in three models: the GXE, the SE, and the GLE. All are 4-door sedans, and all come with 4-speed automatic transmission though the SE can also be purchased with 6-speed manual transmission.

Interior Features
The standard interior features of the 2003 Nissan Maxima include a tilt steering wheel with radio controls, an 8-way power driver seat, a trip computer, a tachometer, and power door locks and windows. This sedan also comes equipped with standard air conditioning, cruise control, power steering, and an AM/FM/cassette/CD player.

The SE and GLE models also have a leather-wrapped steering wheel as an additional standard feature, while with the GLE, Nissan goes further yet, including leather upholstery, automatic climate control, a 4-way power passenger seat, and a driver-seat memory system. Also standard on the upscale GLE is a Bose AM/FM/cassette with in-dash 6-disc CD changer.

A navigation system is an attractive option for the SE and GLE models.

Exterior Features
All three Maxima models have automatic xenon headlights. Alloy wheels are also standard, 16-inch on the GXE, and 17-inch on the SE and the GLE models. While the SE is provided with a rear spoiler as another standard feature, this is also available as an option on the GXE and GLE models. A power sunroof is another available option on both the SE and the GLE models.

Performance
Under the hood of the 2003 Nissan Maxima is a 3.5-litre dohc V6 engine, which produces 255 hp at 5800 rpm, and 246 lbs-ft of torque at 4400 rpm. The GXE and GLE models come with 4-speed automatic transmission, and the SE model comes with either 4-speed automatic transmission or 6-speed manual transmission. Boosting its sporty image, the SE is also furnished with sport suspension.

Safety and Security
The standard safety features on all three Maxima models are anti-lock 4-wheel disc brakes, brake assist, dual front airbags, and front-seat active head restraints. For security, all Maximas come equipped with a theft-deterrent system. The SE and GLE models also have fog lights, while the GLE is also provided with front side airbags.
