First introduced into the steeply competitive market two years ago, the Toyota Tundra Pickup Truck has attracted truck enthusiasts who appreciate not only the sporty styling, but the traditional Toyota reputation for excellent value, quality, longevity and - down the road - high resale value.

Available Models
Several models are in the line up for 2002 and offer a broad spectrum of features, including Tundra Regular Cab 4x2, Tundra V8 Regular Cab SR5 4x4, and Tundra Access Cab SR5, V8 Access Cab Limited.

Interior Features
Beginning with the Tundra Regular Cab 4x2 model, standards include a fabric bench seat with vertically adjustable headrests and fold down center armrest, cut-pile carpeting, dual cup holders, driver and passenger sun visors, and a digital quartz clock.

Inside the comfortable interior of the Tundra V8 Regular Cab SR5 4x4 there are additions like cruise control, tilt steering wheel, deluxe AM/FM ETR/Cassette with four speakers, defrosted CFC-free air conditioning, and driver and passenger dual sun visors with vanity mirrors and extensions.

The Tundra Access Cab SR5 adds a front fabric 60/40 split split bench seat, tilt-out rear quarter windows with privacy glass, vertically adjustable headrests, and a fold down center console armrest with dual cup holders on the automatic models.

Tundra V8 Access Cab Limited takes it further with a premium AM/FM stereo with cassette player and CD player with six-CD in-dash changer, power windows, power door locks, and a sliding rear window with privacy glass.

Exterior Features
Basic fare on the Tundra Regular Cab 4x2 lists aerodynamic multi-reflector halogen head lights with auto-off feature, dual black outside mirrors, eight-foot bed, painted front and rear bumpers and grille, rear center high-mount stop lamp with integrated cargo lamp, removable locking tailgate, tailgate rail cap, and steel wheels.

The Tundra V8 Regular Cab sports chrome body side molding inserts, grille, and front and rear bumpers. The outside door handles are color-keyed, and each vehicle is fitted with styled steel wheels and chrome wheel arch moldings. Front and rear mudguards are standard as well.

Next, the Tundra Access Cab SR5 highlights bed and tailgate rail caps, four doors, and a six-foot-three-inch bed.

. Finally, the Tundra V8 Access Cab Limited adds color-keyed fender flares with integrated mudguards, front bumper and body side moldings, power color-keyed dual outside mirrors, and front fog lights.

Performance
Under the hood of the Tundra Pickup Truck is a standard 3.4-litre, DOHC, 24-valve six-cylinder engine with an output of 190 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque. The V8 models check in with a 4.7-litre, DOHC, 32-valve I-Force eight-cylinder engine that cranks out 245 horsepower and 315 lb-ft of torque. Four-wheel drive models boast the benefits of increased power and control to all four wheels for negotiating challenging terrain and road conditions.

Safety and Security
The Toyota Tundra Pickup Truck is equipped with standard safety features such as a driver air bag, passenger air bag with cut-off switch, height-adjustable head restraints, and three-point seatbelts in the front. The Tundra V8 Access Cab Limited adds ABS brakes, daytime running lights, front fog lights, and a security system with remote keyless entry.
