2005 Ford Taurus - Price Quote

Visit Ford for more information on the Ford Taurus.

The 2005 Ford Taurus has seen some revisions to interior detailing, new exterior colors, a simplified series strategy for the various models and minor changes to the availability of optional packages.

The value-oriented Ford Taurus is available in two body styles: a four-door sedan that seats five or six passengers and a four-door, seven- or eight-passenger station wagon.

Available Models
The 2005 Ford Taurus comes in SE and SEL trims for wagon and sedan for four models in total.

Interior Features
Customers looking at the Ford Taurus can choose between the refined sedan and the roomy wagon. Taurus sedans use a three-passenger front bench seat for six-passenger capacity, or two front buckets for five-passenger capacity. Wagons also offer an optional two-passenger rear-facing third-row seat for up to eight-passenger capacity.

New for 2005, Ford has enhanced the SEL with a wood steering wheel and shift knob and woodgrain appliqué trim on the center console, door trim and instrument panel. Though value-oriented, the Taurus SEL model still features a generous collection of standards that includes automatic climate control, power-adjustable pedals, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and an AM/FM/cassette player with 6-disc CD changer.

Exterior Features
Nearing twenty years old, the Ford Taurus continues to evolve. 2004 models have a new egg-crate grille and front and rear fascia for a more upscale sort of look.

Performance
Two engines power the front-wheel drive Taurus group of vehicles. The standard model is a 3.0-liter V6. it has 153 horsepower at 4900 rpm and 185 lb-ft of torque at 3900 rpm.

The second engine ups the power, giving the 2005 Ford Taurus more bite off the blocks and better passing ability. This optional (SEL only) 3.0-liter is a dual overhead cam V6 with 201 horsepower at 5500 rpm and 207 lb-ft of torque at 4500 rpm.

Both engines are linked to a 4-speed automatic transmission with adaptive shift control programming, fast-acting hydraulics and an enhanced torque converter. Fuel economy benefits, with 20/27 mpg (city/hwy).

Safety and Security
The Taurus has been rated as one of the best family cars in terms of safety. In addition to the standard package, which improves as you move up the model lineup, customers can also pick up the optional Safety and Security package that is newly available for all models and includes side-impact airbags, antilock brakes and traction control.
