The 2003 Mazda Tribute is a compact SUV, which comes in either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Like many of its competitors, the Tribute is built with unibody construction. Its independent suspension and 16-inch wheels mean it offers a comfortable ride. Stylish and well put together, it is a perfect all-weather vehicle.

Available Models
The 2003 Mazda Tribute is available in the base DX model, the LX model, and the upscale ES model. All three models come equipped with numerous standard comfort and convenience and performance features, which can be combined with several attractive options packages, including the Trailer Tow package.

Interior Features
The 2003 Mazda Tribute boasts an abundance of standard interior features. These include air conditioning, power steering, a folding rear seat, remote keyless entry, a tachometer, map lights, automatic-off headlights, and power windows, door locks, and mirrors. The LX and ES models also come equipped with a split folding rear seat, a cargo cover, and a height-adjustable driver seat, which in the ES is also a 6-way power seat. The ES model also contains an overhead console, and is furnished with leather upholstery.

Exterior Features
An attractive exterior feature that is standard in all the 2003 Mazda Tribute models is the rear liftgate, which has a separate hatch window. Rear privacy glass and a roof rack are also standard. All models come with alloy wheels, and high performance tires. Tubular side steps and a rear step bumper are options for all three models.

Performance
The Mazda Tribute's base DX model contains a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine which achieves 130 hp at 5400 rpm and 135 lbs-ft of torque at 4500 rpm, while the LX and ES models offer a 3.0-litre V6 engine that achieves 200 hp at 6000 rpm and 200 lbs-ft of torque at 4750 rpm. The DX comes with 5-speed manual transmission, and the LX and ES come with automatic transmission. All models are available in either 2-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and feature a dashboard switch to lock the vehicle in a 50/50 front-rear torque split.

Safety and Security
The ES model of the Mazda Tribute now come equipped with anti-lock brakes as a standard feature. Both the LX and ES are equipped with fog lights, and all three Tribute models offer an alarm system as an option. Dual front airbags are standard on all models.
