The single current Lexus LX 470 SUV has been
graced with an extensive array of standard equipment that
covers a complete range of items you will want in a sport
utility vehicle. 2001 saw a series of upgrades that remain
unchanged for this year with the exception of a new standard
Digital Versatile Disc Lexus Navigation System.
Interior Features
Within the opulent interior of the LX 470 SUV

climate control, cruise control, first aid kit, genuine
leather upholstery and trim, power rear quarter windows,
power door locks, and power heated front seats. The seating
capacity is eight passengers and offers up to 90.4 cubic

seven-speaker audio system with in-dash CD player, and a

Performance
The Lexus LX 470 SUV headlines full-time four-wheel
drive with a center differential that splits the power 50/50
front/rear to adapt to slippage. Under the hood, it wields
a 4.7-litre, DOHC, eight-cylinder engine that pumps out
an impressive 230 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. The
towing capacity is 6,500 lbs.
Exceptional handling can be attributed to rack-and-pinion
steering, height-adjustable suspension, computer-controlled
shock absorber damping, and double wishbone independent
front suspension with torsion bar springs.
Safety and Security
Each vehicle is backed by solid safety standards
that are listed as ABS brakes, brake assist, vehicle skid
control, and traction control. The Lexus LX 470 Sport Utility
also comes with a keyless entry system with in-key remote,
transponder anti-theft system, shifter-linked door locking,
and free-wheel key cylinders in the doors.
As well, a passenger depowered air bag, driver depowered
air bag, three-point seatbelts, head restraints, child safety
locks, child seat tethers and anchors, and other passive
standard safety features are all part of the basic LX 470
SUV package.
