2005 Saturn VUE - Price Quote

Visit Saturn for more information on the Saturn VUE.

While the standard Vue isn't flashy in the least, the high-performance Vue Red Line aspires to nothing short of that feat. It is bold, fast and arrogant.

But that doesn't mean its owners are. They are just those people that like to do things quickly, and with a bit of panache. In other words, this isn't your old Saturn wagon.

The Vue Red Line is a compact SUV that first debuted as an interim model last year. This year is the first full-production go-round, and it should prove to be quite impressive for GM's smallish division.

Available Models
The 2005 Saturn Vue Red Line is a single model. It is offered in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.

Interior Features
Like the regular Vue, the Red Line has two rows of seating for a five-passenger capacity. It is also practical, as it can be configured to carry over 30 cubic feet of cargo with features such as a second-row seat and front passenger seat that fold flat.

The inside of the Red Line isn't that much different than regular models-most of the distinction comes from the flashy exterior.

As such, it offers such upscale features as OnStar and XM Satellite radio. There are also three audio systems with MP3 readability and a rear-seat DVD system for hours of entertainment.

Exterior Features
It's on the outside that the Red Line goes wild. The SUV rides on styled 18-inch aluminum wheels with P245/50R18 Bridgestone Turanza performance touring tires. It also sits a little lower than other Vues, giving it a cool low-riding appeal.

The Vue Red Line's custom look also includes unique rockers, rear fascia, front fascia with black air intakes and a chrome exhaust tip. Door and liftgate handles, along with mirror housings, are painted body color to finish off the monochromatic theme.

The Red Line's suspension is stiffened considerably when compared to other Vue models. Cool and functional, in other words.

It uses a 3.5-liter V6 engine that is the most powerful in its class, letting it go from 0-60 mph in seven seconds. It has 250 horsepower at 5800 rpm and 242 lb-ft of torque at 4500 rpm.

The V6 is mated to a 5-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with grade logic control, which helps eliminate hunting between gears. Specifically engineered for Saturn Vue by Honda, the powertrain also provides towing ability up to 3,500 pounds.

Safety and Security
Safety features include front seat-belt pretensioners, dual front airbags, antilock brakes and traction control.
