2005 Chevy Silverado - Price Quote

Visit Chevrolet for more information on the Chevrolet Silverado.

The Silverado 2500 is a true ¾-ton bruiser that does everything the smaller ½-ton Silverado 1500 does, just with more force and aggression. If there's plenty of dirty work to be done on your watch, you can't go wrong by picking up one of these rugged full-size pickup trucks.

The 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500 received a number of significant additions last year, including the unveiling of a brand new crew cab, so the makers at Chevy couldn't provide as much glitz for 2005. New tire combinations, new colors and a wider availability of the OnStar system top the list for the new model year.

Available Models
The 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500 is offered as a regular cab, an extended cab and a crew cab. There are three trims available: base, LS and LT. 1500 models and HD models are all covered in individual reviews.

Interior Features
Regular cabs have two doors and seat two or three. Extended cabs have rear-hinged back doors; crew cabs have four full doors. Both have a rear bench seat that accommodates three more people.

The Chevy Silverado 2500 keeps everyone comfortable on the inside with a standard dual-zone heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. It is available with both manual and automatic climate control, depending on customer preference.

Satellite radio and DVD entertainment are just some of the options available for 2005. On crew cab models, available rear-seat audio controls allow second-row passengers to enjoy a separate audio source from front-seat occupants.

Exterior Features
Chevy Silverado 2500 Regular cabs have an 8.1-ft Fleetside long box, while extended cabs and crew cabs have a 6.5-ft Fleetside short box. Bed rails and a bed extender are optional.

Performance
The sole engine powering the entire 2500 line is a 6.0-liter Vortec V8 model. It can generate up to 300 horsepower at 4400 rpm and 360 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm.

Two transmission choices are available: 5-speed heavy-duty manual or 4-speed automatic. In a move that surprises no one, 2500 models can be had with either two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.

The Quadrasteer four-wheel turning system is offered with 2500 crew cabs. At low speeds, Quadrasteer enables the rear wheels to turn in the opposite direction of the front wheels. That helps the vehicle make tighter turns for parking. The turning diameter of 2500 models with Quadrasteer is reduced 21 percent, from 49.6 feet to 37.4 feet.

Safety and Security
Two-wheel drive models have traction control for added security. Other standard safety equipment includes dual front airbags, antilock 4-wheel disc brakes and daytime running lights.
