Visit Chevrolet for more information on the Chevy Colorado.

The all-new 2004 Chevrolet Colorado is a compact pickup truck designed for today's buyer. What does it mean to be fitted for the needs of modern man? It means that a compact pickup must be bigger, more capable, more diverse and more versatile than ever before. That was the goal Chevy struggled to reach with the Colorado, and that is what they feel they have achieved.

Larger than most compact pickup trucks on the road, the new Chevy Colorado rolls in with a rugged body-on-frame design. It is offered in regular cab, extended cab and crew cab configurations. Two new engines are offered, as well as numerous different options packages.

Available Models
Chevy Colorado LS models come in a standard model, or with the following packages: an elevated-ground-clearance Z71 off-road suspension model, a ZQ8 sport-suspension model, a 1SC group, a 1SJ group and a 1SF group. Colorado base models are covered separately.

Interior Features
Colorado's crew cab offers a 60/40-split folding rear seat capable of accommodating three adults. The extended cab model comes standard with four doors. The regular cab features 60/40 bench seats, in cloth or vinyl, with bucket seats available.

Crew cab Chevy Colorado LS models with the 1SC group receive a nice amount of standard features. They have power mirrors, windows and door locks, remote keyless entry, an automatic day/night rearview mirror, air conditioning and more.

The options for the 2004 Chevy Colorado LS include the OnStar safety system, a remote locking system, heated leather seats, XM Satellite Radio (continental U.S. only) and a driver information system.

Exterior Features
2004 Colorado crew cabs get a 5-ft cargo bed, while other models have a 6-ft bed. With the 2WD ZX8 lowered suspension package, 17-inch wheels replace 15-inch wheels.

Performance
Like base Colorado models, the standard engine with the 2004 Chevy Colorado LS model is a 2.8-liter, inline 4-cylinder engine. It can produce 175 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 185 lb-ft of torque at 2800 rpm.

Standard with some LS models and optional with others is a 3.5-liter inline 5-cylinder engine. It delivers 220 horsepower at 5600 rpm and 225 lb-ft of torque at 2800 rpm. 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission can both be had.

To no one's surprise, two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations are both available with the 2004 Colorado.

Safety and Security
The 2004 Chevy Colorado LS model has dual front airbags, antilock 4-wheel disc brakes and fog lights. Curtain side airbags and traction control for two-wheel drive models are available.
