Visit Chevrolet for more information on the Chevrolet Express.

The 2003 Chevrolet Express extended length versions stretch out the size on two of the three Express models. The already large G2500 and G3500 models are infused with even more size and power, moving their specs up into the ridiculous level. With twelve-passenger seating on the G2500 extended length and available fifteen-passenger seating on the G3500 extended length, there's no questioning the transporting capabilities of these full-size vans. Like the regular lengths, extended length Express models feature a new left-side passenger door, unique access panels, an all-new look and upgraded powertrains.

Available Models
The G2500 and G3500 extended length come only in base models. However, there are plenty of upgrades available to adjust the look, feel and performance of these big vans.

Interior Features
A new electrical architecture inside the 2003 Chevrolet Express gives drivers more information on the interior workings of the vehicle. An upgraded communication network transfers data throughout the entire vehicle to a new instrument cluster, which monitors and reports on up to 20 system functions. Some of the standards found across both extended length models include front air conditioning, power steering, digital clock, AM/FM radio and twin trip odometers.

Optional equipment is available for all extended length Express owners. Part of the options package includes the maximum fifteen-passenger seating configuration, while the OnStar system and a six-disc CD changer are also part of the list.

Exterior Features
New exterior colors for the 2003 Chevrolet Express are Sandalwood Metallic, Dark Spiral Gray Metallic and Berry Red Metallic. The extended front end includes a longer hood, a bigger engine compartment and a larger, wraparound bumper system. New halogen headlamps and larger, revamped taillamps enhance visibility for an added measure of safety.

These big guys can perform. For the first time, Express features GM's unique tow/haul mode, a technology that reduces the frequency and improves the predictability of transmission shifts when pulling a trailer or carrying a heavy load. G2500 models are equipped with a 4.8-liter V8 engine with 270 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 285 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. Larger G3500s have a mean 6.0-liter V8 with 300 horsepower at 4400 rpm and 360 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm. Both models have 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and torque converter.

G2500 owners needing a little extra power can upgrade to a stronger engine if they want. This results in a 5.3-liter V8 resting under the hood, capable of dishing out 285 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 325 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm.

Safety and Security
For 2003, the Express offers a four-wheel power disc antilock brake system as standard equipment. The system features the responsive HydroBoost hydraulic assist power brake booster. Additional safety features include dual front airbags and the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) system for child seats.
