Visit Cadillac for more information on the Cadillac Escalade EXT.

When Cadillac decided to produce a crossover SUV/pickup truck, the rest of the automotive world must have cringed. Competitors surely anticipated the trademark luxury and performance associated with all Cadillacs, but what they could not have foreseen was the flawless engineering that defines the 2003 Cadillac Escalade EXT. Customers who want luxury, power and style but can't decide whether they need an SUV or a pickup truck are given the perfect vehicle with the 2003 Cadillac Escalade EXT.

Available Models
The 2003 Cadillac Escalade EXT is offered in a base model, filled with features. Cadillac also offers a traditional SUV configuration with the Escalade and extended length Escalade ESV.

Interior Features
The 2003 Cadillac Escalade EXT features the revolutionary midgate system found on other GM vehicles, most notably with the Chevrolet Avalanche. The rear windows remove and the midgate folds along with the rear seat to transform the EXT from an SUV to a pickup truck. The SUV configuration seats five, while the pickup configuration offers two-passenger seating with an extended cargo bed.

Luxury is standard with Cadillacs, and the Escalade EXT is no exception to this rule. A redesigned instrument panel and a smarter electrical system upgrade all 2003 EXT models. Some of the other numerous features on the inside include the OnStar system, leather upholstery, air-conditioning, a Bose AM/FM/cassette with in-dash 6-disc CD changer, an analog clock, a trip computer and much, much more.

Exterior Features
The Escalade has a four-door crew cab body along with its variable bed sizes. The 5.3-ft cargo bed is extended to 8.1-ft when the pickup configuration is employed. Escalade EXT features two new exterior colors for 2003: Green Envy - a medium Pearl Green Metallic, and Out of the Blue - a medium Blue Metallic.

Performance
To accommodate its innovative construction, the 2003 Escalade EXT is given a highly versatile engine that provides plenty of power. It is a Vortec 6.0-liter/ 366-cu. inch V8 that features 345 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 380 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm, given the EXT a towing capacity of 8000 lbs. The engine links to the Hydra-Matic 4L60-E heavy-duty electronically controlled four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.
Naturally, the Escalade EXT is built for high-performance. An improved all-wheel drive system is standard, as is traction control, load-leveling suspension, a rear-obstacle detection system and automatic shock-absorber control. Nothing is really left out, is it?

Safety and Security
Certainly safety and security are of primary importance, and this is reflected both in the EXT's sturdy construction and its standard equipment package. New safety features for 2003 include dual front and side airbags with an advanced passenger-sensing system. In addition, antilock 4-wheel disc brakes are also standard.
