The new and improved 2002 Acura 3.2 TL Sedan graces the near-luxury segment of the market, bearing numerous upgrades and the addition of the high-performance Type-S model that is quite simply outstanding on the road, combining top-notch luxury with superb handling and overall performance.

The sporty yet elegant 2002 Acura 3.2 TL Sedan is offered this year ina base model sedan and a brand-new Type-S that pushes the limits of performance much to the joy of driving enthusiasts everywhere.

Interior Features
Each luxurious Acura 3.2 TL Sedan is equipped with extensive comforts and conveniences such as automatic climate control with air filtration system, power moonroof, remote keyless entry system, power windows, power door locks, heated power front seats, genuine leather upholstery, wood-patterned trim, and a new six-disc in-dash CD changer.

2002 Acura TL interiorThe Acura 3.2 TL Type-S Sedan packs on additions like a DVD-based navigation system with six-inch LCD color touch-screen dash display, perforated-leather seating and steering wheel, a metallic-face instrument panel, perforated-leather gearshift knob, and ebony wood-patterned interior trim.

Exterior Features
The Acura 3.2 TL Sedan's exterior has undergone a redesign that has enhances its sporty appeal, featuring a more aggressive grille, reshaped head lights, and revised badging. Each vehicle sports front fog lights, and clear upper lenses for an updated look from the rear. Also new for 2002 are three gorgeous new colors - Anthracite Metallic, Aegean Blue Pearl (Type-S), and Eternal Blue Pearl.

Racing under the hood of the 3.w TL Sedan base model is an all-aluminum, 3.2-litre, 24-valve, six-cylinder engine with variable valve timing and lift electronic control that combines to extract 225 horsepower and 216 lb-ft of torque for formidable acceleration. Meanwhile, the more powerful Type-S model produces 260 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque.

Each TL Sedan is equipped with a direct ignition system with knock control, platinum-tipped spark plugs, and a long-life timing belt. The standard transmission is five-speed automatic, with a fuel economy rating of 19.29 mpg (city/hwy). A crisp and exciting ride is afforded by the sport-tuned suspension.

Safety and Security
Taking the safety of their drivers and passengers seriously, the Acura 3.2 TL Sedans come fully equipped with standards such as xenon high intensity discharge head lights, ABS brakes, traction control, driver depowered air bag, passenger depowered air bag, and side impact air bags. The body is rigid and bolstered by side impact door beams plus front and rear crumple zones to absorb the effects of an impact. The Type-S Sedan adds vehicle stability assist for extra control.
